Captures: ‘The Devil’s Whore’, Part 1

21 November 2008, 01:34 pm
I’ve uploaded a few captures from the first episode of The Devil’s Whore. You can see them here. Mind the spoilers. If you missed the programme, you can catch it again on Saturday at 9:00 pm on Channel 4.
If you very much enjoyed the first episode (as I did), you can let Channel 4 know through their website. Apparently there are no plans for a DVD release yet, so you can also let them know that there’s demand for it.
Interview on BBC Breakfast

19 November 2008, 09:56 pm
This morning John Simm and writer Peter Flannery were promoting The Devil’s Whore on BBC Breakfast. The short interview also includes a couple of clips from the first episode. Thanks a lot again to PS at LiveJournal for capturing the video!
The Times: Devil’s Advocate

19 November 2008, 04:33 pm
Yesterday The Times included another pretty interesting interview with John Simm regarding The Devil’s Whore. I’ve archived it along with the photos featured here.
There’s also a new article from last week’s Saturday Magazine which I’ve uploaded here. No new images in that one.
And of course remember to tune in Channel 4 at 9:00 pm today for the first part of The Devil’s Whore! It gets repeated on Saturday at 9:00 pm. Enjoy!
SFX: First news on ‘Skellig’

17 November 2008, 06:45 pm
There’s a one-page article about Sky1’s Skellig in last month’s issue of SFX Magazine. The film’s producer is interviewed and there’s a brief mention of Mr Simm and his character, Dave—Michael’s father.
It’s no coincidence that the most familiar names in Skellig’s cast—Tim Roth, Kelly MacDonald and John Simm—all have a reputation for taking on edgy, difficult pieces. Simm, for example, plays the father of Michael, the boy who meets Skellig in a ramshackle shed at the same time as his sister is seriously ill.
“This is quite a heartfelt, emotional part,” says Hirschkorn [Nick, producer]. “The minute you put somebody into that position who’s got a slightly harder edge to them, there’s a lot of ambiguity to what he’s going to do next—you don’t necessarily know that everything’s going to resolve itself in a perfect way.”
‘Tu£sday’ on DVD

17 November 2008, 06:26 pm
The DVD for Tu£sday has now a provisional release date set for 23rd February. It won’t be definite until next year, but it shouldn’t be that far off if it indeed changes.
The DVD will feature extras such as cinema trailer, five character vignettes (used to promote the film—watch the one for Silver here), audio commentary track with director/writer Sacha Bennett and actor Cristian Solimeno (who played Butch), a gag reel and a making of which includes interviews with the cast. It will be distributed by Verve Pictures.
Thanks KJT for the heads-up and Sacha Bennett for the details!
TV & Satellite Week: Past Master

12 November 2008, 06:29 pm
John Simm is also on the cover of this week’s issue of TV & Satellite Week magazine (cover image is not new, but I’ve scanned it anyway). Inside there’s another interview about The Devil’s Whore, quite brief this time.
Radio Times: Sword Play

11 November 2008, 09:52 pm
I’ve uploaded the article and scanned the images from this week’s Radio Times magazine, in which Mr Simm discusses his role in The Devil’s Whore and the making of the programme.

Channel 4 is already airing ads for the programme too. You can watch a long version of the trailer clicking on the image above or going here. Thanks to PS at LiveJournal for capturing the video!
And according to the Radio Times website, next week’s issue will feature an article with John Simm on The Devil’s Whore. On sale Tuesday 11th November.

‘The Devil’s Whore’ homepage update

04 November 2008, 05:38 pm
Channel 4 has uploaded a final version of their homepage for The Devil’s Whore. It’s much better looking and it’s got a few more goodies, so be sure to check it out.
L has also kindly donated another new still from the programme. Again, please do not upload that one to any other website.
